CD Tower
A creation of my own design, although patterned after a typical CD tower.
I needed a nice cabinet in which to hold my classical and rock CDs. I took some measurements of what the standard vertical cabinets are and went from there using my imagination. Many items in my home that I have made are of a picket fence deco so I made thid cdtower to the same theme.
It consists of eight non-movable shelves (it’s for CDs and they don’t change size!). For stability, I built the little square base on it, actually as an after-thought of the first use of it. Made of pine and painted with latex it wears well. I added a coved top edge to the base for a little added class. I use a magnet to ‘lock’ the door closed. I went for a little extra detail on the ‘roof with the ridge edging.
