Kitchen Counter Space Saver

When we had a simple cableTV feed, just having the small TV on the end of the kitchen bar was not a problem. When we switched to FIOS, it came with a set-top box about the size of a VCR. I was not keen on the idea of placing the TV on top of the box for starters. Then came the problem of changing the viewing angle.

While in the kitchen proper, the TV needs to be angled one way and while sitting at the kitchen bar, it needs to be swung around about 60 degrees, the other way.

Problem solved with a little craftsmanship. A small table, open front to back, to cover the box and to support the TV safely. But the changes in view angle had to be taken into account. Solved by installing lazy susan hardware and cutting a circular stand.

All the wood is leftover oak scraps (is there such a thing as scraps for such a fine wood?) and we just whitewashed it.
